Welcome to the Registration page for the Hofner 500/1 Violin Bass Guitar.  (German-made Originals 1955 to the 1990's only please!)

If you fill in the details of your 500/1 here, it will appear on a register located on this website within a few days, or maybe a little longer if I happen to be away from home at the time.

Please do spare a few minutes to fill in the form - it's a simple matter of picking from check boxes and drop lists, and typing in some basic information. All of the items listed should be able to be ascertained by a glance at your guitar - no complex measurements or specialist knowledge required - just a bit of observation of what's in front of you. It's for you to simply select the correct/relevant option from the drop-list in each case.

The idea is to monitor some of the detail changes that this model underwent in the different time periods during its long production-period. By filling in all the details on the form, you can help us build up a bigger picture, and as the information you provide is collated, you'll be able to see just how and where your guitar fits in from the Detail Spreadsheets published on this website. You will also get your name on the Owners' Register also on this website!

Please ensure that your guitar is a German-made original 500/1 of the 1955 to c1990 period. I'm afraid that I can't register the German re-issues made from the 1990's to the present day, the 5000/1 Deluxe Bass, nor the Chinese made Contemporary (CT) and Icon Series instruments............simply because I will have all-on dealing with just the German originals!!
