This was another Ebay purchase. The last owner
gave a good honest description which I appreciated. The body had been refinished
some years ago but not polished, so I stripped the guitar down and polished the
body which came up great. I shielded the inner cavities with aluminium tape and
re-soldered the electrics. The frets were polished, fretboard oiled, truss rod
adjusted, and neck reset. Some Rotosound round-wound strings completed the job
and it is now a very quiet (hum-wise) bass with great variable tone. The last
owner told me, after I had purchased the guitar, that it had once been played by
Robert Smith of 'The Cure' - an added bonus.
