1955 HOFNER MODEL 465 ACOUSTIC GUITAR
OWNED BY MICHAEL HILLMAN, MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA
The Hofner 465 was not one of the guitars distributed by Selmer, and hence is not well known here in the UK. It was, however a very high quality guitar, with its solid spruce top, rosewood back and sides, ebony fingerboard, and similar fret markers to the Club 60. Just look at the herringbone purfling on the body binding! I suppose you could say that the 465 was the next best thing to the Committee.
This guitar has recently been restored by Michael, and fitted with new tailpiece, scratchplate, and bridge.
