SELMER ZODIAC TWIN 30 AMPLIFIER

LATER CROC-SKIN VERSION

COURTESY OF TIM FLETCHER, MANCHESTER, ENGLAND:

Later models had the thick leather carrying-handles and black control knobs with a Selmer logo.

This Zodiac is fitted with an unusual Power Amp chassis, which is believed to be a factory prototype. Zodiac 30's are fitted with a chassis which has the valves vertical and is covered by a brass grill when the amp's back panel is in place - cosmetically similar to that on Eric Aho's Thunderbird 30 (although the T/Bird 30 is fitted with twin KT88 power valves.) There are a lot of blank holes in the rear of the chassis. Perhaps Selmer were attempting to produce a universal chassis for use with several types of amps?

Note: The mains socket on the rear of the chassis is probably not original.
