KEN: "Although not a famous band in the early 60's, the Black Knights did have full sponsorship from Selmer. The Black Knights where a Liverpool based trio who where chosen for a part in the film "Ferry Across the Mersey" starring Gerry and the Pacemakers, Subsequently George Martin produced our first record at Abbey Road Studios (self penned "I Gotta Woman/Angel of Love ". Our manager sent a copy to Dick Twydell at Selmer,  who after hearing the record offered us full sponsorship for our amps. We travelled down to London, where Selmer built customised amps for bass and lead which we used extensively during out professional period, including a season at the Star Club in Hamburg."
