

When Hugo acquired the Congress it was in pretty poor condition, as can be seen from the photo below. Its previous owned had attempted to fit two body-mounted pickups, plus rotary controls.

The picture below shows the patching of the body top, prior to the "crackle-finish" used to camouflage the repair work.
