This image shows the on/off slide switch for the active circuit and the rotary control marked "depth" for the regulating the effect.

 

 

 

Underside view of the scratchplate, with the potentiometer for the "depth" control visible top centre. (The pot code of 158 indicates a manufacture date for the pot of April 1968.) 

 

In between the "depth" pot and on/off switch is what appears to be a mercury switch. Presumably this was intended to save the battery charge when the guitar was placed vertically or on its back? It would appear that two transistors were utilised in the circuit.
