MELODIJA MENGES SOLID GUITAR

COURTESY OF DETLEV GOLDAU:

Note the two output jack sockets.

Well, it may have "Hofner" on the headstock but this guitar certainly wasn't made by Hofner! It is a guitar made in Slovenia by the Melodija Menges Company that has at some stage had the headstock profile altered, an engraved brass "Hofner" truss-rod cover and "Hofner" decal logo added. The pickups were made by Schaller for a time in the 70's and 80's, based on the Hofner/Frank Pix Type 513 units and used by many other companies, including Melodija. The vibrato tailpiece is the same type as also used by Hofner on many of their guitars.

The Melodija's body size compared to that of a Gibson SG.
