COMMENTS FROM GLEN ABOUT HIS COMMITTEE:

"I bought it from Cravens second-hand shop in Hull, East Yorkshire, England in about 1981. It was a bit dilapidated to look at with all the bits hanging off and came with the worst case you ever saw. I cleaned it up and sorted out the action - and it has sort of responded to lots of affection too. The action settled down after being played lots and lots. There was a small split in the upper bout that a local furniture company fixed from the inside and buffed up the finish. This was in 1982.
I paid 70 pounds and swapping a nice 48 bass Weltmeister accordion for it - even in that state!
This is my main guitar still - it sounds unusual compared to the Fender and Gibson (Telecaster/ Les Paul respectively). Although I am very biaised - it may even have more 'soul'. It is used through a late sixties Silverface Bandmaster (with Blackface chassis wiring) and sometimes a Session Sessionette (great British amp). I adore Peter Green's Black Magicwoman, and playing this guitar through that amp into a beat up pair of Celestions is about "it" in terms of tone.
I now live in North Carolina and brought the guitar with me. It spent sometime in Toulouse, France as well - so it has air miles - Hofner miles!
We play in a band called Fine and U, playing jazz, blues and old country. I often get asked about how I get the sound and it isn't a secret - a good guitar and amp (and hopefully not thrashing the hell out of it!)."
